If Your Child is Sick
Parents: When calling the
school to report your child's absence due to illness,
please help us by reporting the symptoms your child is
exhibiting, including fever, if any.
Please continue to stress thorough
hand-washing and covering coughs and sneezes, even if your
child is not ill.
H1N1 UPDATE - December 1, 2009
Our absences have leveled off and
are average for this time or year. We will continue with our
sports and extra curricular events for the time being.
New Hampshire is still reporting a
widespread pattern of flu. The illness at this point
continues to be mild in a vast majority of cases. NH
Department of Health and Human Services is saying that
many children are presenting with vomiting and diarrhea in
addition to respiratory symptoms. However, flu-like
symptoms still include fever over 100 degrees.
We continue to take all precautions
as recommended by Health and Human Services.
Sneezing/coughing etiquette and hand washing remain high
on the list of precautions. Our custodians are diligent
and thorough in their cleaning.
Please remember – if your child is
ill with flu-like symptoms, they may not return to school
until symptom free for 24 hours.
Schools will stay in operation. The
district will be flexible with student attendance
requirements and schoolwork completion dates.
Our flu season last January and
February, 2009, showed 17% absences on average. We
will continue to track and monitor this rate.
When vaccines are given to the
public through regional clinics, Raymond High School
will be a site.
GOOD
NEWS
Congratulations to students and
staff. The State of New Hampshire has reported that
Raymond School District made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP).
Raymond High School and Iber Holmes Gove Middle School, in
combined scores with Lamprey River Elementary School, also
made AYP. Congratulations to all staff and students.
Students at all levels, in all areas
tested, improved over their last years’ scores. Progress
was made by all groups of students.
Lamprey River Elementary School has
to complete corrective action plans for math with the
students having educational disabilities. Iber Holmes
Gove Middle School has focused work on improving the
scoring for educationally disabled students in the area of
math. AYP was not made in these two specific areas.
