LEAP After School Program

LEAP ( Learning Enrichment Afterschool Program)

Registration for the 2020-2021 school year opens on August 18th! We will begin accepting registrations both in person and through email at 9:00 AM when building offices open. Any registrations dropped off or emailed at that time will not be accepted.  Please print out and complete the registration form and program policies. There is also an optional 4-H enrollment form. 4-H is a partner of LEAP that supports our efforts through staff trainings, curriculum development, and volunteer services. By filling out the 4-H enrollment form, you help us support their mission which includes strengthening their collaboration with LEAP. Checks can be made out to Raymond School District. Registrations can be dropped off at either the LRES or IHGMS front office, or emailed.

We are not just child care. We are an academic enrichment program which exists to provide supplemental services to students during out-of-school time. Due to the terms of the grant that funds this program, we have specific demographics of students that we must target to be in our programs. Because of this, in the event we have more enrollments than we have capacity to accept, priority will be given to students who fall in the following categories in this order:

  1. Students who receive free or reduced lunch
  2. Students who are referred to us by teachers who require additional academic supports
  3. Students who are referred to us by guidance/building administration for disciplinary reasons
  4. Students who are with us on their scheduled days until the end of enrichment at 5:00. If attendance patterns arise which makes it clear that you are not utilizing LEAP to it's fullest potential, you risk losing your spot if we have a waitlist.

Again, I want to reiterate that this is only if we have excessive enrollment. With our space and current staff, we are able to accept approximately 45 students in each group. Even with the addition of 4th grade to the middle school, we should be no where near this number if the enrollments are split about 50/50 for each group based on historical attendance data. Of course we won't know this for sure until the school determines who's group A and who's group B. Once that is finalized we will be able to confirm enrollment in LEAP. I apologize that this is as far from simple as usual, but we will make the best of it while we have to!
