School Closure or Delay Clarification for Employees

Winter weather certainly arrived decisively this year! In order to help things run as smoothly as possible when delays or closures are necessary, I'd like to provide some clarification for employees.
When there is a two hour delay, allow ample time for safe travel but do not come to work at the usual start time simply because you can. Plan to arrive two hours later than usual.
When school is closed, 'school year' (not year-round) employees should not come to work.
When school is closed, year-round employees should report to work as soon as they can safely do so.
On rare occasions, in addition to the schools closing, the entire SAU/District will close down due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. If that occurs, only those designated as essential staff should report to work. These are the employees that must help prepare for school to open the following day.
As you can imagine, clean up after a storm is an incredible amount of work, and best done when there are fewer cars in parking lots and/or people using walkways.
Your safety and well-being is a priority, so please allow your fellow employees the time that they need to properly clear parking lots and walkways before coming to work by abiding by the preceding guidelines.
