Students may come to the office to sign up during homeroom or at the end of the day.
AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES & CLUBS
National Junior Honor Society 18-19 (starts September 19th, meeting on 1st & 3rd Wednesdays after school until 3:30)
NJHS is a group of 7th & 8th grade students who academically qualified to apply for NJHS. Students learn and display leadership, citizenship, and character while serving the school and community. An important activity NJHS does is to collect food donations during the month of November to give to the Raymond Community Center.
MathCounts Club 18-19 (starts September 25th, meets most Tuesdays after school until 3:45)
Are you in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade? Is math your favorite subject? Do you like solving problems and puzzles? If you answered “Yes!” then MathCounts is the place for you. We will also compete against other groups at the University of New Hampshire in February. Go to the MATHCOUNTS website for puzzles, games, and more information at https://www.mathcounts.org.

Student Council 18-19 (starts September 25th, meets most Wednesdays after school until 3:30)
Students in 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade are eligible to become members of Student Council. Members of Student Council represent their classmates to administration, are a voice for their peers, and lead by example. The members are responsible citizens in the IHGMS community. Every year Student Council holds a penny drive for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation, along with many other community service projects done to help the community throughhout the year.

After School Chorus 18-19 (starts Wednesday, October 17th, meets most Wednesdays after school until 4:00)
After School Chorus is open to students in grades 5-8. During After School Chorus, students use fun scales for vocal warm-ups and are introduced to vocal music from various genres. Our Chorus Singers learn to sing in 2-part harmony, as well as, learn how to project and blend their voice with others. As a group we work together and appreciate each other's contribution to the chorus. Our annual Winter Concert is scheduled for Friday, December 15th. For this concert students will be learning several new songs and combine with the in-school chorus for our annual Winter Concert. The dress code for the concert = white blouse/dress shirt and black skirt/dress pants.

Glee Club (starts October 3rd, meets twice a month on Wednesdays from 2:45-3:45)
A singing and dancing performing group which meets after school.
Students will work together to choose songs and choreograph dance routines. Click here for permission form.
Meeting dates: October 11, 25, November 8, December 13 (further meetings TBA)
Jazz Band 18-19 (starts October 2nd, meets most Tuesdays after school until 3:45)
The IHGMS Jazz Band is an instrumental group for students in grades 6-8 who have been playing their instruments for at least one year. Jazz Band meets weekly after school from 2:45-3:45 pm. The IHGMS Jazz Band will perform jazz music at IHGMS concerts. Click here for permission form
Drama Club 18-19 (starts October 17th, meets most Tuesdays after school until 3:30)
Drama Club is an after school activity open to students in 5th-8th grade. Drama Club will encourage students to share their voice and acting talents. Students will be introduced to various Drama Games to form a sense of community, as well as, dramatic readings, monologues, songs from musicals and short scripts. Art Club for Grades 7 & 8 18-19 (starts October 2nd, meets most Tuesdays after school until 3:45)
Art Club for Grades 5 & 6 (starts October 11th, meets most Thursdays after school until 3:35)
Do you like to be creative? Do you want to be a better artist? Then come join the after school art club! Using more complex tools and mediums, the art club will explore more fully the many aspects of fine art and media at a higher level than possible in an everyday classroom setting. Age appropriate projects will be explored by the students. Work completed during the club may be submitted into local and regional art competitions.

The IHGMS Yearbook club needs students willing to commit their time to creating a fantastic yearbook for the people of IHGMS. The members of this club complete a variety of jobs to make sure the finished product is the best possible. Some examples include keeping track of orders and finances, photography, and graphic design.

Volleyball (Intramural) (February through March)
Intramural volleyball. Grades 5&6 will play on Mondays and Wednesdays, Grades 7&8 will play on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Improv Theatre Production (start date to be determined)
FEAT and the 21st Century are looking for students interested in taking part in the Improv show, “Comic Relief.” There is no cost/fee for students who want to participate in this theater production. Involvement in this endeavor will mean your child making a serious commitment.
Tabletop Games Club 18-19 (starts October 30 and will be held every other Tuesday from 3:00 - 5:00)
Join the tabletop game club to learn some new games! Strategy and sportsmanship will be a focus. Test your Magic deck, learn how to play Settlers of Catan, or teach someone your favorite game! The club will meet every other Tuesday after school from 3:000 - 5:00.
Chess Club (start date to be determined)
Chess club is open to any students in 5th through 8th grade. We have veteran players with a solid knowledge of the game, as well as beginners just learning how the pieces move. We practice strategies, ponder set ups, challenge each other and have fun! Chess Club is held after school until 3:30.
Soccer (Intramural) for grades 5 & 6 (starts in the Spring)
Calling all soccer players! We will meet two days a week after school starting in the spring for 6 weeks to play “friendly” pick-up games. Depending on the weather we will play both indoors and out.Talent Show (starts in the Spring)
Do you have a talent you would like to share with others? Tryouts and practice starts in the Spring after school.
