TOWN OF RAYMOND
The Mosquito Control program begins the week of April 5, 2021 in the Town of Raymond. Crews from Dragon Mosquito Control, Inc. will be checking swamps, marshes, woodland pools, ditches, storm drains and other shallow, stagnant water for mosquito larvae. When mosquitoes are found, the following insecticides may be used:
Altosid (methoprene 5%)
VectoBac (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis 2.8%)
Natular (spinosad 2.5%)
Fourstar MBG (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis 3.0% & Bacillus sphaericus 3.0%)
VectoMax FG (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis 4.5% & Bacillus sphaericus 2.7%)
VectoPrime FG (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis 6.07% & methoprene 0.10 %)
CocoBear MLO (mineral oil 10.0%)
BVA 2 Mosquito Larvicide Oil (mineral oil 97.0%)
If Eastern Equine Encephalitis, Jamestown Canyon Virus or West Nile Virus becomes a public health threat, limited spot spraying may be conducted at Raymond High School, Iber Holmes Gove Middle School, Lamprey River Elementary School, Welch Field, Cammett Field, Riverside Park, Liberty Skateboard Park and the Town Common. It isn’t possible to predict if emergency spraying will be necessary. The decision to spray is made in consultation with town officials and is based upon mosquito surveillance data, disease test results and weather conditions. Additional notification will be given in the unlikely event emergency spraying is scheduled.
