8TH GRADE RECYCLING

Recycling Begins Here

 

           

            Students from the 8th grade exploratory special, recycling, continue to collect the materials for recycling, including paper, commingled, and for the first time recycled newspapers. The recycling of newspapers resulted in a collection of 1.5 pounds.  Not very impressive, but it will Make a Difference.

        It has been over four weeks since the last update.

On Monday, January 4th, 2010 students from the recycling exploratory collected 96 pounds of newspaper to be recycled. 

        Unfortunately, our endeavors have not been monumental but we do make a difference.  At this point in time 73% of all newspaper is recycled.  We have contributed .02%.  Our effort to save a tree or 117,647 pounds of paper is being chipped away.

Today, 11/23, the members of the recycling exploratory collected a total of 56.6 pounds of newspaper.  This figure is almost one half the weight of a tree in recyclable paper.  Participants are eager to be among those working to make a difference in our community.  Return to this page and look for a visual depicting our efforts.

Members of the recycling exploratory collected newspapers on November 16th, which amounted to 68.3 pounds.  It is evident that recycling   newspaper is making a difference in our community.
