WHAT IS SPECIAL EDUCATION?
Special Education is defined as specially designed
instruction to meet the unique needs of a child
with a disability. A child with a disability is
defined as an individual with special needs in one
of the following areas as identified by the
Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA):
Hearing Impairment (Including
Deafness)
Speech or Language Impairment
Visual Impairment (Including
Blindness)
Emotional Disturbance
Orthopedic Impairment
Autism
Traumatic Brain
Injury
Mental Retardation
Other Health
Impairment
Specific Learning Disability
Deaf/Blindness Multiple

PLATO online courses are now being offered Mondays and Wednesdays
at Raymond High School, 2:30 - 5:30. Community members are welcome!

NOTICE
Notice is hereby given to all parents of
students and adult students who received special education services from Raymond
School District.
All special education files inactive
since August of 2002 will be destroyed. These records are no longer needed to
provide educational services to you (or your child). These records may be needed
by you (or your child) for social security benefits or other purposes.
Destruction of records will occur on August 30, 2008. You must notify the
Superintendent’s Office in Raymond by or before August 20, 2008 if you require a
copy of these records. You may reach this office at (603) 895-4299 ext 1107.
Proof of identity will be required. Requested copies will be charged at 10
cents per page.
This notice is in compliance
with federal regulations 34 CFR 300.573 as related to students with disabilities
receiving special education services.
