As of November 20, 2007 the IT department
has established remote control functions for
telephone system repairs. This means that
if the IT department is unable to repair a
phone issue we can call the company who
installed the phone systems for us and have
them address the problem from their office.
As of March 11, 2008 re have established
remote repair options for RHS, LRES and the
SAU building. We are working on
getting these options installed at IHGM but
since we use a different telephone provider
at this location we have encountered some
delays.
Cost Savings:
The addition of remote control
repair will help SAU 33 save costs with
regards to phone repair issues. The repair
charge for remote work is considerably
cheaper than an onsite visit, and boasts a
faster repair time, so in this case we
actually will get better service with a
cheaper price!
SPEED:
Have
you noticed telephone repairs being done
more quickly? Remote repairs allow us
to achieve MUCH faster results. In
many cases we have had problems repaired
within hours of receiving a repair request
in school dude!
REMOTE LOCATIONS:
Remote functions have been established for
the SAU building, Raymond High School and
Lamprey River Elementary School. Over the
coming days we will be working on
establishing remote control options for the
middle school.
How do you report a telephone issue?
- Report the telephone
problem through
School Dude.
- The IT staff will
determine if the repair is something we
will fix or if we will have the phone
company address.
- When you make your
report please include the extension number
as well as the mailbox number (if that is
also a problem) Please try and be as
specific as possible when making your
report.
How
will you know a problem has been fixed?
By reporting it through
School Dude
you can check back from time to time to
see if we have completed the repair. We
will always write a short note as to the
work that was done. School Dude will show
you all your repair requests, both
outstanding and completed.
As the new IT staff gets settled in more
exciting upgrades of this nature are on the
horizon!
Thanks for your patience.
Regards,
The IT Department –
SAU 33
