New IT Repair
Request System |
Prior to the the new IT team arrival
computer repair requests were "phoned"
in to the IT tech-lines. This
required the IT staff to check these
lines each day and keep running lists of
repair requests which was VERY
inefficient.
Our new system allows staff and teachers to submit
requests online and check back over time
to see the status of repairs.
School Dude will allow the IT staff to
post up to date status reports on
requests. Messages to staff on
status include:NEW REQUEST - We have
yet to address
IN PROGRESS - Requests we are currently
working on
PARTS ON ORDER - Ordered parts are yet
to arrive.
DENIED - IT requests that have been
denied for some reason
COMPLETED - IT requests that we have
finished
Staff and teachers need only submit
ONE request for repair.
The system automatically alerts us to
the repair and places it in a "Q" for us
to work on when we are able.
Submitting multiple requests will not
speed up repair times, in fact, it may
slow them down.
Staff should only submit one repair
request per incident. This will
allow us to track accurate statistics
(which we post each month)
How to submit requests if your computer
is offline? Simply go to any
computer in your building and go to the
district webpage and click on the
"Report a Computer Problem" Staff
can also access the repair website from
home to log and check the status of
repairs 24/7.
The IT staff works out of School Dude
each hour of the day... so we are able
to see new repair requests as they come
in.
