New District Wide
Email System |
When the new IT department took over operations for the SAU it was clear
our mail system was in need of major
repair. SPAM in the system was
rampant and made email virtually
unusable. In addition, when
Raymond was flooded our email system
went down for 2-3 weeks.
Outsourced
Email
One of the first moves the IT department made was to
locate our email server off site.
This way if Raymond is ever flooded
again our email and website will remain
up. In outsourcing this aspect of
our operations we have improved spam
filtering, achieved a higher reliability
and virtually removed all server
maintenance.
Webmail vs.
Outlook
Currently the system is operational in webmail mode
only... once we shut down the old mail
server and make a few changes, staff
will be able to utilize Outlook once
again. We hope to get to these
changes before the end of the 07-08
school year.
