SAU 33 is considering the deployment of a piece of
software called Moodle.
What is is Moodle?
"Moodle is designed to help educators create online courses with
opportunities for rich interaction. Its
open source license and modular design
means that people can develop additional
functionality. Development is undertaken
by a globally diffused network of
commercial and non-commercial users,
spearheaded by the Moodle company based
in
Perth, Western Australia." -
From Wikipedia, the
free encyclopedia
There
are a number of OLE (online learning
environments) out there, one appeal is
that Moodle is Free. However, just
because a piece of software is free does
not mean it should be deployed over
"paid" software packages. In the
near future the Technology committee
will be researching OLE software and
will make a decision to either deploy
this type of software and if so, which
one. Check back for updates on
this project!
